In terms of journal and editorial service, Fred currently serves as Associate Editor for 3 journals:

Fred also currently serves on these 10 editorial boards: Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Personnel Assessment and Decisions, Organizational Research Methods, Psychological Assessment, Archives of Scientific Psychology, Military Psychology, Journal of Business and Psychology, International Journal of Selection and Assessment, and International Journal of Testing.
In terms of national service and outreach, Fred is the recent Chair of APA’s Committee on Psychological Tests and Assessment (CPTA 2018-2019); served as recent president of the Society of Industrial-Organizational Psychology (SIOP) (2017-18); is a board member of the National Academy of Science (NAS) Board on Human Systems Integration (BOHSI) (2015-2021); and was a committee member on two NAS commissioned reports: Assessing Intrapersonal and Interpersonal Competencies (2017) and Measuring Human Capabilities (2015) and chaired an NAS workshop on Personnel Selection in the Patterns Evidence Domain of Forensic Science (2017).
In terms of university leadership at Rice University, Fred is current Chair of the Library Committee; served on the Faculty Senate and its executive board (2011-2017); was Co-Chair (with Devika Subramanian) of the committee that established the minor in data science; he was Chair of the Department of Psychological Sciences, helped establish STEM-related psychology CIP codes at the graduate level, and serves in a number of department roles (director of graduate studies, I-O psychology area head).
In terms of professional recognition and awards, Fred is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP, APA Division 14), APA Quantitative and Qualitative Methods (APA Division 5), the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (APA Division 8), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the Association for Psychological Science (APS).
When Fred is not greatly enjoying his work with his graduate students and colleagues at Rice University, he takes frequent neighborhood walks and occasional vacations with his wife Beth; and he also plays Scrabble® well and pinball enjoyably.
